Over Prof. dr. Frederik Hes
Prof. dr. Frederik Hes graduated from the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands in 1995. He obtained his doctorate in 2000 at the University of Utrecht on a study into Von Hippel-Lindau disease, a hereditary form of tumours. From 2000-2001 he was in training in internal medicine. From 2001-2005 he trained to become a clinical geneticist at the Leiden University Medical Centre. From 2015-2019 he was Chairman of the Association of Clinical Genetics in the Netherlands. His research interests are mainly in the fields of hereditary and family tumours; in particular to improve the detection and the periodic examination of people with hereditary tumour syndromes. Since 1 February 2019 Frederik Hes has been working at the UZ Brussel and is the Head of the Centre for Medical Genetics.
