About Prof Erik Debing
Prof Erik Debing is cluster head of the Centre for Cardiovascular Diseases and Co-Director of the Brussels Aorta Centre. He is also Professor of Vascular Surgery at the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy of the Dutch-speaking University of Brussels (Vrije Universiteit Brussel). Prof Debing is also a member of the ‘Endovasculaire heelkunde en Vaatdiagnostiek’ (Endovascular Surgery and Vascular Diagnosis) working group and secretary of the ‘Klassieke Vasculaire Heelkunde’ (Traditional Vascular Surgery) working group. Both working groups are part of the Belgian Society for Vascular Surgery.
Specialist medical trainees
In a university hospital experienced specialist doctors are assisted by specialist medical trainees (Dutch: ASO). These are qualified doctors who are continuing their specialisation.
