About Chris Winter
Chris Winter is a clinical psychologist and has been associated with the Centre for Medical Genetics since 2010. She initially worked as a researcher at the Dutch-speaking Free University of Brussels (faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences), preparing a doctoral thesis on preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD). She charted the broad psychosocial development of 5- and 6-year-old children born after PGD and researched the psychological impact of PGD on couples during and after pregnancy.
She also undertook clinical activities on a part-time basis. At the CMG, she screens, supports and assists patients and their families during presymptomatic processes, the wish for PGD, the perinatal period and genetic diagnoses.
She also works as a psychotherapist on a self-employed basis.
