About Dr. Liv Vandermeulen
Dr Vandermeulen graduated as a doctor at the Dutch-speaking Free University of Brussels in 2007 and trained to become a gastroenterologist at UZ Brussel. After this, she worked as a resident for two years, mainly treating patients with inflammatory intestinal diseases, as well as patients in phase II and III studies. From 2015 to 2019, Dr Vandermeulen worked at the Sint-Maria General Hospital in Halle. She was appointed head of clinic at UZ Brussel on 1 October. Dr Vandermeulen is a member of the Flemish Gastroenterology Association (VVGE), the Belgian Society of GastroIntestinal Endoscopy (BSGIE) and the European Crohn's and Colitis Organisation (ECCO). In addition, she is part of the Belgian Inflammatory Disease Research and Development (BIRD) group, where scientific research into inflammatory intestinal diseases is coordinated at a national level.
