Planning

If you are admitted for a surgical procedure, our staff will do everything possible to ensure that the procedure takes place at the scheduled time. However, unforeseen circumstances are always possible in a hospital, resulting in shifts and delays in planning schedules.

Recovery room

Depending on the procedure and at the doctor's request, you will remain under permanent monitoring in the recovery room for a few hours or even overnight after your procedure. If necessary, you will be briefly admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

News after surgery

Family and friends often wait anxiously for information after a surgical procedure. However, the staff in the recovery room explicitly request that you do not call the recovery room - unless prior agreements have been made with the attending physician. Instead, you must follow these guidelines:

• Have the nurses in the nursing unit add a contact person and their contact details to your file. 
• In the event of a problem during recovery, the doctor/attending physician will contact the family him/herself.
