About Prof. dr. Steven Droogmans

Prof. dr. Steven Droogmans is Head of Unit and since 2010 has been a staff member of the Cardiology Department. He completed his doctoral thesis in 2009 titled 'Detection, follow-up and prevention of drug-induced valvular heart disease in an in vivo rat model'.

He is chairman of the CHVZ-KFAR research centre, chairman of the Belgian Young Cardiologist Club (YCC) and an active board member of the Belgian Society of Cardiology (BSC) and the Belgian Working Group of Non-invasive Cardiology (BWNICI). He is also a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology (FESC).

He is active on the editorial board of a number of scientific journals and has to date been published in 60 articles in national and international journals. He supervises medical students, medical assistants and medical specialists in their clinical and scientific training.
