Targeting brain tumors and metastases using therapeutic radiolabeled Nanobodies - D'Huyvetter Matthias
In order to answer the question if small antibody fragments (nanobodies, sdAbs) can be used to detect and treat brain tumors, relevant mouse models are required. In this project we optimized several preclinical models for research of glioblastoma and breast cancer brain metastasis. Using these techniques, we were able to demonstrate the applicability of radiolabeled sdAbs for the nuclear imaging and treatment of breast cancer brain metastases, and that fluorescently labeled sdAbs are useful tools for image-guided surgery of brain tumors.
