Capillaroscopy
This test is used to make the diagnosis of Raynaud’s disease, among others.
What happens during the test
- The test takes about 30 minutes.
- Using a microscope the doctor looks at the nail bed of your fingers (or toes). In this way he is able to study the capillaries, which are the very finest arteries.
- Since the capillaries are sometimes abnormally narrowed in cold conditions, the doctor carries out this test after cold stimulation.
