Ophthalmic Examinations
An ophthalmic examination usually starts with a general examination (an orthoptic examination in children), but can be expanded to include:
- Visual field examination
- Fundus photography
- Fundus autofluorescence
- OCT scanning (anterior/posterior)
- Electrophysiology (EOG, ERG, VEP)
- Ultrasound and UBM
- CT/MRI
- Specular microscopy
- Scheimpflug imaging
- Examination under sedation in children
Afterwards, it will be determined which medical or surgical treatment or other care pathway will be followed.
