Neuro-inflammatory disorders

Neuromuscular diseases form a large group of rather rare pathologies. The most frequent of these include the following:

  • Guillain-Barré syndrome
  • Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)
  • Duchenne muscular dystrophy
  • Steinert’s disease
  • Myasthenia Gravis
  • Inclusion Body Myositis
  • etc.

The cause may be genetic, toxic, degenerative or inflammatory. These disorders are usually chronic and involve serious impairments.

What does the Neurology service offer?

  • Diagnosis

We can do various examinations to reach a diagnosis:

  • Electrophysiological examination: ENMG
  • Genetic examination
  • A muscle or nerve biopsy
  • Treatment and follow-up

Depending on the type of neuromuscular disease, it may or may not be possible to prescribe a course of treatment or take supportive measures.
