Mission, vision and purpose
Mission
The mission of the network and of every hospital that forms part of the network is to provide high-quality care to all patients with a cardiovascular condition, using all currently available clinical, diagnostic and treatment resources, based on the patient’s needs and preferences and according to the principles of 'Evidence Based Medicine'.
Vision
The network’s vision is that collaboration within the cardiac network will enable innovation to take place in diagnosis and treatment, data management, scientific research and training. Shared investments will allow patients treated within the network to benefit from new and innovative diagnostic or treatment resources.
Purpose
The purpose of the network is to achieve better quality through collaboration across a larger geographical area. This is done by acquiring expertise, sharing knowledge, outlining shared care processes, harmonising procedures, making agreements within the network and collectively pooling and evaluating the results that are achieved. For critical and commonly occurring conditions, patient data will be shared and common databases will be created.
