Acute heart or lung failure

Patients with life-threatening problems caused by heart or lung failure can receive temporary support from a mobile artificial heart (ECMO). In the near future this service will also be offered to hospitals in the region. Patients can then be transferred to the Centre for Cardiovascular Diseases of UZ Brussels with a mobile artificial heart unit.
